Rothemund sets sail for 'Galapagos'
BERLIN -- German helmer Marc Rothemund is positioned to produce the actual story of countless ill-fated European settlers, who looked for to forge a completely new existence on one of the Galapagos Islands through the 19 thirties, for the silver screen. Munich-based Telepool and KJ Entertainment have teamed with Perfume producer Tatfilm to with each other develop and convey "Galapagos." The film is founded on the 1959 autobiographical book "Postlagernd Floreana" by Margarete Wittmer, who turned up round the island along with her husband and stepson in 1932 wishing of beginning a completely new existence far within the economic and political reality in Germany. The Wittmers shared the region of Floreana together with other eccentric settlers, plus a Berlin dental office and also the mistress along with an Austrian-French baroness and her two fanatics. After a couple of countless days, however, existence in paradise converted to a full-time earnings hell as three in the settlers died under mysterious conditions while another three disappeared without any trace. Rothemund, who won the eu Film Award for his 2005 Nazi-era drama "Sophie Scholl: The Best Days," is pointing in the script by Petra Lueschow ("The Murder Farm").
